Amalia Mora
Creator of A Eulogy for Jane Doe
Amalia Clarice Mora is a Los Angeles-born and -based Latine writer, ethnomusicologist, and creator of A Eulogy for Jane Doe. Her first full-length play, “In Community,” was commissioned by BlackTop Gunn Theatrics: Teatro de la Calle. Her other creative writing, which often explores the relationship between mourning rituals, the mixed-race experience, and gender-based violence, has appeared in the Altadena Poetry Review, LitAngels, FlashFrog, Sonora Review, and Terrain.org. Her recent arts journalism can be found in Flaunt and Cultured. She currently works at UCLA and at the UArizona, where she helped to establish the Consortium on Gender-Based Violence and teaches about combatting gender violence and healing through the arts.
Claudia Paraschiv

Claudia Paraschiv is an artist and architect. Born in Romania and raised in Los Angeles, Claudia now lives in Salem, MA. Claudia works as an architect for Joy Squared Design in Boston, MA, a design practice that follows it's motto: architecture for the common good. Claudia's work is grounded in the belief that design is strongest when shaped in authentic collaboration with the people and communities it serves. This foundation developed over a decade of independent practice focused on participatory design through her design practice Studioful. She thrives translating diverse perspectives into cohesive, thoughtful solutions. She has served as the Public Artist in Residence in Salem (2017 and 2023) and Four Corners, Dorchester (2015-2016), as well as a MassCreative Advocacy and Organizing Fellow in 2023. She is honored to create the illustrations for A Eulogy for Jane Doe, which are "a delicate, loving dialogue with the essence of someone felt, but unknown." She has been the Resident Artist on A Eulogy for Jane Doe since its inception.
Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo

Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo is the daughter of Mexican immigrants. She is author of Incantation: Love Poems for Battle Sites (Mouthfeel Press, 2023) and Posada: Offerings of Witness and Refuge (Sundress Publications, 2016). A former Steinbeck Fellow and Poets & Writers California Writers Exchange winner, she has been awarded residencies from Hedgebrook, Ragdale, Yefe Nof, Jentel, and the National Parks Arts Foundation in partnership with Gettysburg National Military Park and the Poetry Foundation. Her poem “Battlegrounds” was featured in Poem-a-Day, On Being’s Poetry Unbound, and in the anthology, Poetry Unbound: 50 Poems to Open Your World (W.W. Norton, 2023). She teaches poetry and creative writing at Antioch University and with UCLA Extension. Bermejo is the director of Women Who Submit. Inspired by her Chicana identity, she works to cultivate love and comfort in chaotic times.
Jaime Estepa

Jaime Estepa (they/he/siya) is a queer Filipinx American poet, playwright, emerging TV writer, and educator. An alum of the VONA/Voices workshop and the UCLA Professional Program in TV Writing, Jaime has also received fellowships from the Periplus Collective and Lambda Literary. During their time based in San Diego, they were featured for their work as a spoken word artist in the KPBS docuseries, “Out of the Boondocks.”
Paula Williamson

Paula Williamson is a Black, Queer writer and mom of three based in the Bay Area. A poet, playwright, interviewer, and creative nonfiction writer, her work has appeared in Parentheses Journal, Manastash Literary Journal, Pulse Magazine, and ZAUM Literary Magazine, as well as the anthologies Black Butterfly: Voices of the African Diaspora and The White Picket Fence: Stories of Individuality as Rebelliousness. Her short play Hot, Full-Bodied Finish was selected for FUSION Theatre Company’s 2026 The Seven Short Works Festival and performed in June 2026. She also served as a reader for the 2026 Bay Area Playwrights Festival. She holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Antioch University Los Angeles, with a minor in Poetry.
Cathy Linh Che

Cathy Linh Che is a writer and multidisciplinary artist. She is the author of Becoming Ghost (Washington Square Press, 2025), a Finalist for the National Book Award, Split (Alice James Books) and co-author of An Asian American A to Z: a Children’s Guide to Our History (Haymarket Books). Her video installation Appocalips is an Open Call commission with The Shed, and her film We Were the Scenery was shortlisted for an Academy Award and won the Short Film Jury Award: Nonfiction at the Sundance Film Festival. She teaches as Core Faculty in Poetry at the low residency MFA program in Creative Writing at Antioch University in Los Angeles and works as Executive Director at Kundiman. She lives in New York City.
Colette Freedman

Colette Freedman is an internationally produced novelist, screenwriter and playwright with over 50 produced plays and musicals. Her play Sister Cities has been produced around the country and internationally, including Paris (Une Ville, Une Soeur), Rome (Le Quattro Sorelle), and Australia. Her musical Serial Killer Barbie (Heuer Publishing) had a six month run in Los Angeles, and Mozart the Musical, which she conceived of with Tegan Summer and is the dramaturg, had a sold-out run at Carnegie Hall in March 2023 and is opening in London’s Emerald Theatre in 2027. Her films include 7,000 Miles (Wendie Malick and Juliet Mills), Sister Cities (Jess Weixler, Jackie Weaver) And Then There Was Eve (Rachel Crowl and Tania Nolan) and Miles Underwater. Her eleven published novels include everything from a dystopian YA with Brooke Purdy (The Last Bookstore) to an adult horror with Michael Scott (The Thirteen Hallows). Colette began her career as an actor and has recently worked in a string of indie films and shorts, including Scout Purdy’s Pilgrim (which she also produced) and Amelia Earhart in Cheating History Podcast. Jacqueline Rose

Jacqueline Rose is a poet with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Antioch University Los Angeles. Rose’s work weaves global awareness and cultural inclusivity into family-centered narratives, fostering intergenerational dialogue grounded in oral traditions and lived experience. Rose has been happily married for 35+ years, and is the mother of two wonderful daughters. After a career in academia and public relations, Rose is fulfilling a lifelong dream: completing her educational goals, writing poetry and creative nonfiction, and creating artistic photography. Rose’s poetry was included in the Pushcart Award-nominated anthology Future Splendor: Celebrating A New Renaissance (2022), published by Infinite Bee Publishing. The most recent inclusion of Rose’s poetry is available in Regeneration: Writings About Hope & Beyond (2024), an international anthology. Recent activities for Rose include Season 22 of the Writer to Writer program with the Association of Writers & Writing Programs and the 2026 Scribente Maternum Writing Retreat.
Guadalupe García McCall

Guadalupe García McCall (she/her) (ggmccall.com) is the national bestselling, award-winning author of several young adult novels, some short stories for adults, and many poems. She has received the prestigious Pura Belpré Author Award, a Westchester Young Adult Fiction Award, the Tomás Rivera Mexican-American Children’s Book Award, among many other accolades. Guadalupe is currently Affiliate Faculty in the MFA Creative Writing program at Antioch University LA. She lives in San Antonio, Texas, where she is working on the Seasons of Sisterhood series, three YA novels set in the world of Summer of the Mariposas, coming from Tu Books 2025-2028. Fall of the Fireflies came out in October 2025. Spring of Cicadas and Winter of the Witch Moth are forthcoming.
Yayra Sanchez

Puerto Rican soprano, Yayra Sánchez, is an active performer of concerts, operas, and musicals ranging from the traditional to the contemporary. Based in her hometown of San Juan, PR, she is an advocate of the Latin-American and Iberian Art Song repertoire, and a proponent of contemporary vocal works as well. Yayra earned a BA in Literature and Languages from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón (San Juan, PR); and, both a BA and an MM in Vocal Performance from The Boston Conservatory (Boston, MA). Throughout her career as a musician, she has performed in important stages, including the world-renowned Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, CA; Boston Symphony Hall in Boston, MA; and, The Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin, TX. In addition, she has sung at the Tanglewood Festival in Lenox, MA and the Centro de Bellas Artes (Performing Arts Center) in San Juan, PR. Moreover, Ms. Sánchez is a private voice teacher; the co-creator and co-producer of the children's music project: Canciones, raíces y alas; and, the creator and teacher of CRYA Canta, a music program geared towards early childhood development for young children (0-4yo).
Aissa Perico

Aissa Perico, MFA (she/her/hers), is a poet from Fresno, California. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from California State University, Fresno. Through her writing, editing, and communication work, she has developed a deep commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices through storytelling and publishing. Her writing explores her Mexican heritage and culture, her love of nature, and the beauty and complexity of everyday life.
Simon Petty

Simon Petty grew up in Manchester, England. After reading English at Robinson College Cambridge, he pursued a life in songwriting, his band Minibar signing a deal that took them to Los Angeles in 1999 to cut their first record with legendary producer T Bone Burnett. Years of touring with artists such as Pete Yorn, The Wallflowers, Wilco and Crowded House eventually gave way to a more sedentary life in west LA, teaching guitar and Creative Writing with his wife Celia, with whom he now performs in the acoustic duo Petty Chavez. He received his MFA in poetry from Antioch University, and his poems have been published by Slow Lightning Press and shortlisted for the Bridport and Fish poetry prizes.
Jessica Rivera

Jessica Rivera is an architect and designer whose work engages questions of land, culture, history, and the built environment. She holds a BA in History with a focus in Latin American Studies from UCLA and a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). Her international experience includes work and research in Chile, India, Mexico, and the United States. Her graduate thesis, Havana Redux, examined the potential transformation of Havana’s urban fabric in anticipation of renewed global investment in Cuba, considering how architecture might respond to the social and spatial pressures of rapid economic change. More recently, Rivera has been a founding collaborator on Suelo, a regenerative land initiative in central Baja California exploring architecture, ecological restoration, regenerative agriculture, and resilient infrastructure as interconnected strategies for the long-term stewardship of land. Rivera is the founder of OFICINA.LA, an architecture and design practice working across Los Angeles, Mexico City, and New York.
Georgia Berminghan

Georgia Bermingham Longwater is a writer and transdisciplinary artist (in the making) who works between Spanish and English. Through poetry, culled-image films, and sound collection, she explores knowledge production, meaning-making, and the relationship between aesthetics and ideology. Her practice centers on experimental processes that bring writing into contact with various materials and media. She lives and works in Panamá City, Panamá.
